CUANOAL61SOV000 electrostatic balancing socket
CUANOAL61SOV000

In brief. The CUANOAL61SOV000 is a female static grounding receptacle, designated 700S by its manufacturer, mounted on an aircraft or a refueller to take the plug of the refuelling cable. Triangular-flanged body in 5056A aluminium, 15 g, three 4 mm bolts, base flange fitted on the connection side. NATO Stock Number (NSN) 5935-14-401-6611. Explorea quote within 48 working hours.
Of our four electrostatic balancing parts, it is the best identified: reference, manufacturer designation and NSN all match. This page explains why that helps, and how it differs from the 700E, its close relative.
What is the 700S static grounding receptacle?
700S is the manufacturer designation of the CUANOAL61SOV000: the public ISO Group database links its NSN, 5935-14-401-6611, to the reference "700S". The CUAZOAL61SDOA00 male electrostatic balancing plug lists the 700S first among its compatible receptacles. The original manufacturer is CKB, later taken over by Deutsch and then by TE Connectivity; we source the part independently and are not an official distributor.
Its role is that of any refuelling grounding receptacle. US patent 4525014 (1985) describes it: connecting the aircraft to the refuelling equipment to prevent a static charge from building up and the arc that could ignite the fuel. The French standard NF L94-111 called this equipment "équilibrage électrostatique" (electrostatic balancing) in 1955; today the French term is "mise à la terre", in English static grounding receptacle.
How does it differ from the CUABOAL1SSOV000?
In the mounting flange. The two receptacles share the triangular 5056A base flange, the spring-loaded sleeve and the 15 g weight, but the original manufacturer's drawing mounts them differently. On the 700S, the 3 mm base flange sits against the connection side and the Ø 16 mm body extends 32 mm behind the wall, with a narrow washer at the end. On the 700E, the CUABOAL1SSOV000 electrostatic balancing socket, it is the reverse: the base flange is on the opposite side and the Ø 15 mm body protrudes 31 mm on the connection side.
Our advice: do not replace a 700S with a 700E without checking the space available on both sides of the wall. The 700S needs 32 mm of depth behind the bulkhead, the 700E 31 mm of clearance in front. Send us a photo or the drawing of the part currently fitted and we will confirm the equivalence before pricing.
What are the dimensions of the CUANOAL61SOV000?
Dimensions taken from the original manufacturer's drawing, in millimetres, compared with those of the 700E:
| Dimension | 700S (CUANOAL61SOV000) | 700E (CUABOAL1SSOV000) |
|---|---|---|
| Base flange position | Connection side | Side opposite the connection |
| Body diameter | Ø 16 | Ø 15 |
| Dimension on base flange side | 3 | 4 |
| Body length behind the wall | 32 | Not dimensioned |
| Overall length | 35 | Not dimensioned |
| Body protrusion on connection side | Not applicable (base flange at front) | 31 |
| Base flange (shared) | 3 holes Ø 4.2 at 120°, Ø 35 and Ø 26, height 29 | Identical |
What are the characteristics of the CUANOAL61SOV000?
| Characteristic | Value |
|---|---|
| Manufacturer designation | 700S |
| Type | Female assembly, triangular-flanged body |
| Body | 5056A aluminium |
| Spring-loaded sleeve | Cu Zn 40 Mg Ni Al (designation on the CKB datasheet) |
| Weight | 15 g |
| Mounting | 3 × 4 mm bolts (Ø 4.2 mm holes), on aircraft or refueller |
| NATO Stock Number | 5935-14-401-6611 |
Code 14 in the NSN indicates a part first codified by France, and class 5935 that of electrical connectors. The sleeve is designated "Cu Zn 40 Mg Ni Al" on the CKB datasheet; we reproduce this designation as it stands.
How can it be told apart from the other parts?
The triangular flange immediately rules out the CUABOAL61SOR000 waterproof electrostatic balancing socket, which is round and clamped onto a bulkhead by a lock nut. Against the 700E, look at which side of the wall the base flange is on, then confirm with the NSN shown on your parts list.
| Reference | Manufacturer code | Type | Flange | NATO Stock Number |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CUABOAL61SOR000 | 710 | Waterproof aircraft-side receptacle, lock nut on bulkhead | Round | 5935-14-241-5600 |
| CUABOAL1SSOV000 | 700E / 20653 | Female receptacle, 3 bolts | Triangular | 5935-14-213-6073 |
| CUANOAL61SOV000 | 700S | Female receptacle, 3 bolts | Triangular | 5935-14-401-6611 |
| CUAZOAL61SDOA00 | 701 | Male plug with handle | Not applicable | 5935-14-283-6116 |
Frequently asked questions
I only have the 700S code: can I request a quote?
Yes. The 700S code is enough to identify the CUANOAL61SOV000, since it is linked to its NSN, 5935-14-401-6611, in a public database. State it in your request along with the quantity required. If you also have a photo of the part currently fitted, attach it: it speeds up confirmation.
Which grounding plug connects to the CUANOAL61SOV000?
The CUAZOAL61SDOA00 male electrostatic balancing plug. Its datasheet declares it compatible with the 700S, 700E, 710, 720 and 740 receptacles. The grounding cable is soldered into the tail of this plug, which is fitted with a polychloroprene handle.
What if the CUANOAL61SOV000 cannot be found?
We first look for the original part using its reference and its NSN. If it no longer exists, we design a Form-Fit-Function compatible alternative: same base flange, same three Ø 4.2 mm holes, same interface with the grounding plug. You receive the quote within 48 working hours.
