Railway connectors

UIC 541-5 standardised connector designed for inter-vehicle electrical connections in trains to ensure the transmission of control and power signals for the electro-pneumatic braking system (‘EP brake’) as well as the emergency brake override function (*Emergency Brake Override*).

The connector is equipped with a power-assisted locking system, typically incorporating nine crimp contacts to ensure the continuity of the braking and control circuits throughout the entire train set, in accordance with the international specifications of UIC 541-5 used on railway networks to ensure the interoperability and safety of electrical braking connections between the locomotive and carriages.
